For about twenty years of my life - the EARLY part I was a musician, too. While in the Navy I had the privelege of "sitting in " with some of the great jazz groups in Southern California around Hermosa Beach and Long Beach. The Chico Hamilton Quintette played in a little bar on Locust Street in Long Beach before they became the top group on the "Downbeat" charts. That is where I knew all the guys and, through them, was able to participate once in awhile. It is with very fond memories that I, from time to time, reflect on those days and get inspired to put some commemorative paint on canvas. So ... join me in a salute to "all that jazz"
