Lately I have been facinated by darker

backgrounds.  Somehow the colors

appeal to me and they lend themselves

to my recent themes motivated by

pure imagination of a time in the latter

1800's  when all the Impressionists were

in their "heyday".

Here,  I imagine a large boisterous

crowd in,  perhaps,  the Moulin Rouge

in 1886.  And,  at a table close to the

dancefloor,  a scenario unfolding

oblivious to the surroundings.

Fun to paint.
